I have written a post or two about Patzcuaro in the past. It is an authentic little town about 45 minutes North of Uruapan, in Michoacan’s mountains. My husband, Brad, gave a short Bible talk there in an English congregation in February. Afterward, we treated ourselves to dinner at Restaurante La Mesa en Patzcuaro. Their website calls itself a tourist complex but honestly, I did not get that kind of vibe from this place. They do offer RV sites for travelers but we only saw one other American family. Everyone else was Mexican! I call this a win because I don’t normally like tourist places.
Restaurante La Mesa en Patzcuaro has a restaurant, RV sites, an area for weddings or fiestas, and a small farm. We saw lots of baby animals and a very friendly and curious horse :-) La Mesa is located on a hill overlooking Patzcuaro and the island of Janitzio. The view is spectacular. It really is part of Beautiful Mexico! I highly recommend visiting La Mesa if you are ever in Patzcuaro, Michoacan. Enjoy the pics! Signing off, Tina

Buy me a cup of coffee
A ridiculous amount of coffee was consumed in the process of creating this project. Add some fuel if you'd like to keep me going ;-) Gracias!
Love your adventure pics Tina.
Can you tell me about any insect issues and how you handle them?
Namely worried about visiting Uruapan and having scorpion and spider visitors.
We spray our home every six months and that seems to help. We don’t see many scorpions and spiders but we do see a few… Spraying works!
Flies and little cockroaches are our biggest issue. We don’t have screens and thus the flies. But we only have them during certain seasons and we put up the sticky fly traps and they work great! Ugly but work great :-)
Despite the cockroaches, I promise my home is clean. It’s just hard to keep the kitchen spotless with four kids and once you get those things they are hard to get rid of. I am constantly battling them. I haven’t found a solution yet. This has been hard for me because I absolutely hate cockroaches. I have really had to adjust and just keep teaching the kids to be clean…
Beautiful ~ Planning a trip for next year..
Thank you! I hope you have a great one :-)
