We live abroad in Mexico on six month tourist visas. For this reason we travel to the Mexico border every six months to renew our visas and our vehicle permits. This time we visited Laredo,Texas for a few days and we stayed at Lake Casa Blanca International State Park. It is a very pretty park and the kids really enjoyed being outside. There is a bit of trash but I wouldn’t blame that on the park. There seem to be many visitors and I guess some of them weren’t taught how to use a trash can :-/ We decided we really like the park and the cost of a campsite versus a hotel room. It is highly likely that we will stay there again when it comes time to renew our visas in September.

We saw a road runner in the park but I was too slow to get a picture of it. It immediately reminded us of WiIe E. Coyote, the cartoon character who never got the bird. The sky was cloudy during our time camping in Texas, but thankfully it didn’t rain. Our kids enjoyed splashing around in cold Lake Casa Blanca while Brad and I watched on dry land. I guess I am officially too old to enjoy cold water on a cloudy day. The last image is of abandoned public restrooms in Mexico on the road home. I had to include it! Would you use those restrooms :-) Signing off in Mexico, Tina

Looks like a lot of fun! I wouldn’t have got in cold water on a cloudy day either but that is kids being kids! And nope I wouldn’t use that bathroom!
