I was so excited! We were invited to our first wedding in Mexico! We hired a babysitter and decided to make it a date night. There would be dancing and I love to dance! The evening started off well. The location was beautiful. The food was great. I was waiting, in eager expectation, for the cake. I have to say that working as a wedding photographer for ten years, the food and cake at the reception was always one of my favorite parts! I love food! Haha :-)
As soon as dinner was served, we got the phone call. I forgot my phone in the truck so the call came through the maid-of-honor, a close friend. Brad talked with our sitter and told me, “We have to leave but maybe we can come back.” He knew this night was important to me. Turns out, the kids were playing hide and seek and Alexis shut Sawyer’s finger in her bedroom door. It was the very tip of his finger and it was a deep, ugly tear. When we entered our fraccionamiento everyone was waiting at the front gate. But before we rushed to the hospital we needed to see the wound. At first we thought he might need stitches but neither of us wanted to spend hours in a waiting room with four kids. We decided to let it heal on it’s own and I must say it is looking pretty good. He will have a little scar but nothing major.
I decided not to return to the wedding. First, it was a scary experience for the sitter and I thought she needed to go home and recuperate! Second, I didn’t want to leave my kids. Sawyer was hurting and the girls were upset. I would have felt bad leaving them. So after Brad and I sorted everything out and doctored Sawyer’s finger, we sat on the couch for the evening and watched CSI. I figured we would be invited to another Mexican wedding. Sometimes there are more important things then dancing the night away ;-) Signing off, Tina

I'm sorry your date ended up with a hurt child but children are out first concern. Sounds like something that would happen to me and Bill when our kids were young. I LOVE your pictures. I look forward to your blogs. Can't wait until the next one!!!! I hope you are as happy as you look. I am sooooo happy for your family. I would love to do what you guys are doing. Keep up the good work. Tell Brad hello for us.
