Are you interested in moving to Mexico? We have been living here with our four children for over six years. In September we moved into our sixth home here because our landlord sold our previous home. I have shared all our homes on this blog so if you are thinking of moving here you may want to visit this link, Moving to Mexico, to see what some homes look like in Southern Mexico.
Things have been so crazy here. Our girls were in the States for six weeks, we have had several health problems, we moved into a new home, we attended two encouraging and wonderful Bible assemblies in Guadalajara, Brad and Grams fell a few times, (Brad broke a rib and Grams bruised her poor face), and on top of all this we still have four kids we are raising, including two teenagers which is not easy, let me tell you! Due to all this, it has been over five months since my last post! We moved into this house at the end of September and it has taken me two months to share these images. With this post, I hope to jump back into writing and photography so stay tuned!
Three bedrooms, 2.5 baths in a gated community for $8500 pesos a month or 435 USD. There are two open-air garages. One is for storage and the other will eventually be an outdoor patio area.
I didn’t bother to clean up any messes for these images. It’s the real deal people! The ladder is out because I have some small wall repairs in the works.
I love the lights in this house! They are new and modern but my decor is eclectic because I can’t afford to make it all the same style :-) Hahaha! Actually I think I like it this way!
My mom-in-law gave me this beautiful silk Victorian rug. She had it for many years and I am hoping to have it for many more! We also bought a secondhand couch from her, which gives us so much more seating space than our previous house.
On the right wall, I have a coffee and wine bar. My kitchen is a little small so this works great for us.
I love my bookshelves. We bought them in a nearby town that is known for unfinished woodwork and carpentry. We painted them a rustic grey along with some other small furniture pieces.
Everyone seems to like these beautiful grey and yellow branch curtains from Amazon. I love them!! I love Amazon too. We can order a lot of things from Amazon US and we also have a prime membership with Amazon MX.
Thank you to my parents for the awesome secondhand space-saving pot rack above our fridge. And Brad loves his anti-fatigue mat when he cooks. That is an Amazon purchase too!
Brad made our turtle a little outside pond on the right. She is getting bigger and I know she enjoys the space and the sun. This is part of our future patio area. Can you spot the cat?
And this is the other half of our future patio. The laundry line is removable and eventually, I intend to have a large table and chairs in the center of this area.
Every bedroom has a ceiling fan with dimmable lighting. We love it! This is our first house in Mexico with ceiling fans!
This is right across the street from our home. I love it! The kids can finally go outside and play safely, with grass, trees, and dirt!
Brad even put up a tire swing for the boys :-)
There are only two problems with this new house thus far… One, apparently this area is a hangout for the neighborhood teens because it’s private and secluded. Two, some of our neighbor kids, that love to play with our boys, are a little mischievous and destructive. We are trying to learn how to deal with all this in a positive way because of course, it could always be worse.
On the plus side, I do love the house! And my parents and grandmother live in the same block, on the opposite side! So it really has a lot of benefits. We signed a six-month contract which makes me a little nervous but the owner said he has had some lousy renters so he is nervous too. We will see what happens, I guess! I will keep you posted :-)
Signing off in Mexico, Tina

A ridiculous amount of coffee was consumed in the process of creating this project. Add some fuel if you'd like to keep me going ;-) Gracias!
