Weekly Life Lessons with a Mexico Mom – As a wife of one and a mom of four, it seems like I am always learning and discovering! I know I am not alone. Let’s just admit it: The world is a big place, life is a lesson, and children can be the best teachers. This will be my standard introduction for Life Lessons. I hope you join me every week for a hearty laugh, a deep thought, or maybe both if I am really on the ball.

Here are my insights and experiences as a Mexico Mom for the week of December 29th, 2014:

Life Lessons 40: Teach your little ones that Home Depot demo toilets are not for personal use.

Thankfully I caught Sawyer before he actually pulled his drawers down and peed. “Mommy here’s a potty!” Those were words I did not want to hear in Home Depot, miles away from the public restrooms.

Life Lessons 41: Baby ducklings are not hardy pets.

Maybe we bought them too young. They all died within 36 hours. Two little boy ducks and two little girl ducks. I think they had a common disease because they all died the same way, without any outward signs of sickness till the very end. It was sad but at least we didn’t get too attached and they didn’t suffer very long :-{

Life Lessons 42: Toilet paper is fun!

At least for a toddler. I forgot how wonderful toilet paper could be till our one year old reminded me the other day. Tristan managed to sneak into the bathroom and decorate it with a roll of toilet paper. At least he didn’t get into the toilet bowl… this time…

    My one year old is just discovering the joys of playing with toilet paper. I try to keep a close eye on her but she’s almost gotten to a full roll more than once this past week.

      Isn’t it great! I have photos of Sawyer’s adventures with toilet paper. Now it’s Tristan’s turn. It would be nice if a roll of toilet paper could bring us such joy as well!

    What a cute photo with the Superman T-shirts! It never would occur to me that children would think a demo toilet was real, but it makes perfect sense. Glad you got there in time. I recently saw a movie where one parent was not so lucky. Very sad about the ducklings…

    Oh the poor ducks that’s such a shame, will you get more?
    I love the Home Depot toilet incident that’s hilarious!
    Totally relate to the toilet paper thing, my Arthur loves it too!!!
    Thanks for linking up with #myexpatfamily hope to see you again next month :) x

    Step away from the loo….. I can just see it now – well caught! You have made me laugh out loud with that story. I am dreading the youngest discovering loo roll – I am waiting to find her conspiring with the puppy to create mayhem in the house.

    Ok this is horrible, and I know it…but there’s an episode of Jack@** where a guy poops in a public toilet at a hardware store. I always never know if I want to laugh or vomit…and I always hope they went back inside to clean it up and pay for damage. Glad you caught your son in time :)

      I think my hubby told me about that episode after this happened. All I can say is gross. At least if Sawyer had went through with it he would have made an innocent mistake…. :-)
