I finally sorted thru Sawyer’s baby clothes once again. It’s kinda like a spring cleaning of clothing. Every six months I do this with my kid’s closets and drawers. Out with the old and in with the new. Get rid of the stains and tears and too smalls. Take bags to friends and consignment and Goodwill. It takes a bit of time and is slightly heart-breaking. You know… getting rid of those baby clothes they will never wear again. I guess it’s all part of being neat and organized. Next I have to work on my girl’s clothes… I have been procrastinating because I don’t like doing any of this. I like buying clothes. Not sorting them out. Well, one kid down, two to go.

I remember when Mom used to barrel up our clothes for the change of seasons. I say barrel because she had these huge cardboard barrels she would use. Of course that was in Michigan where summer and winter were exact opposites. Not like this crazy Kentucky weather. And it was 25 years ago. Global warming was not such an issue then. We would get out our clothes for the new season and they would smell faintly of moth balls. Gotta keep those bugs away. These are good memories of me and my mom.

I love my mom and that was one thing she taught me. Just one of many. How to organize clothing for seasons and sizes. It has to be done whether you like it or not. If you don’t, you never know what your kids may try to wear to school ;-)

Good night, sleep tight, Tina
