Hmmmm… honestly I don’t know how to start. This is my very first blog post ever! What do you want to know? Not sure. Where should I start? Don’t know. But I might have one or two words of wisdom. Or maybe a good story. Or possibly even a couple of tricks up my sleeve. And hey, I definitely have a few cute kids! So here goes. Read on and enjoy!

Alexis & Taylor

These are my girls. Seven and six and full of kicks! Someday they will be the life of the party. Right now they are creating a ton of dirty laundry. Along with their little brother…

As you can see, he was creating dirty laundry when this photo was taken. So I have more laundry now, than ever before, thanks to all my little munchkins. Lots of laundry equals lots of laundry detergent, and good detergent costs money.

Recently my wonderful sister-in-law mentioned a recipe for homemade laundry detergent that makes about five gallons with just three cheap ingredients. I thought, “I can do that.” And here we are. I have been using the recipe for about two weeks and I like it. I still use bleach for whites, (I am not a true Eco-Mom), fabric softener, and a stain remover if necessary. But the detergent seems to do its job. The clothes are clean. Check out Recipe #3 on 10 Homemade Laundry Soap Detergent Recipes. Is it safe for HE machines? I don’t know. More on that one later. Sleep tight and thanks for reading my first blog post ever ;-)
